I’m Lisa, founder of The Woman’s Sanctum.  I am a wife, a mother, and a woman, who can trace her maternal line back six generations.  I am passionate about birth, birthing in power and a celebrator of all things Woman and Mother.

Women bring life, and have bodies that grow, birth, and feed our babies.  Throughout history, the “system” has tried to make us small, dim our light and tell us we are insignificant and powerless.  But this is a lie…we are powerful.  Not only do we birth the future, but we are reborn into the women we are meant to be.

I love being a woman and being around strong, badass women who live and birth on their own terms.  For those women, The Woman’s Sanctum was created; for women who want to live powerful, pleasurable, and purposeful lives.

The Woman’s Sanctum was born out of my own birth trauma after the planned homebirth of my son was sabotaged by the hospital system. For years I felt entirely lost but slowly started healing and redefining myself as the woman I am today.

I started a journey of self-discovery, growth, and actualisation. I became obsessed with all things birth, ultimately graduating as a Radical Birth Keeper with the Freebirth Society. This fuelled my desire to help women with their healing from birth trauma or pregnancy loss and to support women who decided to birth out of the system.

The system no longer serves us.  Having the confidence to be an authentic woman will free us from our comfort zone and take us to a place of becoming fully embodied and aligned to our own inner knowing.

My intent with The Woman’s Sanctum is to create a woman-centred community that reflects the power of being a woman, not just in birth but the whole of her life.  To talk about all aspects of womanhood - mothering, sex, self-care, and the relationship with ourselves, our partner, our past, our future, and our place in the world.
